Boston Red Sox public address announcer Carl Beane received his 2004 World Series ring earlier this month in a ceremony by Fenway’s Green Monster. Carl has ties to Willimantic, as he did the morning show on WXLS and WNOU in Willimantic for a few years around 1980 (before WILI owned the FM frequency). Carl is a good friend of WILI’s Wayne Norman, and was an in-studio guest on the Wayne’s morning show in 2004. Carl provided these pictures from his special day. He died in 2012.
